Going to be a slow one today.....

Morning folks, no subbing today, so here I am. A few notes:
  • The UAlbany/Vermont game sold out in just under three hours. Superfan Stephen Gersztoff was first in line for tickets....getting there at 7 am for a 9 am sale. Nice job, Stephen. I expect nothing less than sheer mania at the game from you and everyone around you. BTW, Stephen writes a hell of a blog about the Great Danes hoop team....you can read it here.
  • The championship game tickets were $40/$30/$20. Wow....quite a mighty jump from the normal prices. Did we have to pay ESPN personally to come? Does Doug Gottlieb get a free meal at Across the Street Pub on us?
  • I think the place is going to be out of control. Unlike Siena, which has a little bit of an older season ticket base, Albany's ticket holders usually bring the noise. 4593 people (minus 600 Vermont fans, which will be silenced) will rock the place.
  • I still don't like the Times Union's lack of coverage. If this were Siena, there would be a cover story every day. Mark Singelais does a good job, but the coverage is like clockwork. Well, its Wednesday, so we must do a nice puff-piece filler on Josh Duell, the forward for Vermont that played at CBA. Uggh....theyve got 3 days to get some good articles out there. Im not going to hold my breath.
  • Thats enough now, more later....still kicking myself for missing the Section 2 final last night at the Pepsi Arena. CBA 71, Albany 69, in Double Overtime. That says enough.
