Mike Pelfrey......this year??

Theres been a lot of talk lately about Mike Pelfrey, NY Mets minor league prospect, being ready for the majors by the September call-ups. I dont know about that, but he did look sharp in his outing against Puerto Rico.

Now, granted he did look good, but a good fastball needs a good compliment pitch, and I guess that is where Pelfrey is lacking. Hes working on a change, has a good breaking ball (supposedly), but September? Really?
I dont want him turning into the next Generation K, here.....(or worse, trade him away for a garbage pitcher and a banged-up middle reliever, like Kazmir). Let him work along, dont rush the kid....we waited patiently on David Wright, and he's paying off in spades. Allow Pelfrey to develop into a guy who we can count on for ten years to come.
